VDX is now capable of integrating its ILL transactions with the OCLC IFM service.
The IFM service provides consolidated request billing between OCLC ILL libraries.
Participating ILL libraries receive a monthly invoice which compares the total number of items loaned against the total number of items borrowed by a given library and, knowing the charges for each transaction, provides a final sum that represents what the library is owed or owes overall.
Libraries have to sign up for this service, and VDX needs some additional configuration to enable a site to use this new functionality.
NOTE: At present this service is only available to UnityUK system users.
As far as WebAdmin users are concerned, the only noticeable effects of participating in IFM are:
The optional flagging of some locations as being IFM participants when viewing holdings lists and rotas.
An Additional IFM report on the WebAdmin reports page which itemises this month's IFM eligible transactions for the current library. This report is used in conjunction with the consolidated totals provided in the externally delivered monthly IFM Invoice.
